Resilient

Day 18 - North Korea

In North Korea, persecution is severe and relentless. The government views Christianity as a foreign ideology and the only religion allowed is the Juche which consists of solely worshipping the Kim family. If caught with a Bible, praying, or talking about Jesus, North Koreans risk being arrested, sent to concentration camps, and even executed. Entire families can suffer if one family member is caught being a Christian. Bibles are illegal in North Korea and must be kept secret and smuggled from city to city. Prepare Your Heart

Watch the video below and pray for North Korea.

Praise

  • Praise God for all the organizations like Crossing Borders who house North Korean women in a home in South Korea and help them get adjusted to the South Korean lifestyle.
  • Praise God for all of the North Koreans who are living freely and safely in South Korea!
  • Praise God for ELIM Classes that Crossing Borders has which allows North Korean women to gather and have community with one another through free classes like fitness, English, arts, and more.

Prayer

  • Pray for the healing and adjustment of North Koreans in South Korea. The lifestyle is a drastic change and often times, North Koreans experience discrimination.
  • Pray for the ELIM Classes that Crossing Borders offers North Korean defectors. Pray for more and more volunteers to help serve the women through these classes.
  • Pray for South Korean Christians to embrace North Korean defectors and have a burden to serve and love them.
