Day 8 - India

In India, persecution towards Christians is often violent attacks, imprisonment, and even death. India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is working to make India a pure Hindu nation. This has caused persecution for Believers to become more frequent and worse in the last year. In India, there are anti-conversion laws that have been used against Pastors, Church planters, and Evangelists. Many rural Christians have never had access to a Bible. Prepare Your Heart

Watch the video below and pray along with an Indian believer for their country.

Praise

  • Praise God for the recent economic liberalization and initiatives to assist the poorest communities in India. These initiatives will move India in the right direction.
  • Praise God for pastors in southern India who minister to the Banjara tribe and others who minister to unreached tribes.

Prayer

  • Pray for Christians to remain strong in Christ as persecution is on the rise, churches have been demolished and burned, and crosses in graveyards and cemeteries have been vandalized.
  • Pray for nurses and doctors in India. The health sector is overstretched, under-resourced, and prone to corruption. India has the world’s third-largest HIV-positive population and accounts for one-third of the world’s tuberculosis cases.
  • Pray for beaten and jailed pastors and evangelists, several are martyred each year.
