Life Groups Vocabulary to Know

• Life Group Study Guide | This is a book or PDF file that hosts questions,

discussion prompts, and assists in helping guide a group’s weekly discussion.

• Leader Notes | A set of responses to the Life Group Study Guide questions.

Notes are not the answers but a guide to further group discussion.

• Life Group Video Lesson | A short lesson inspired by the weekend sermon to

further teach and expound upon the sermon and Life Group series.

• Life Groups Series | The collective weeks in which we as a church further

study the weekend’s preaching message with a weekly video lesson.

• Launch & Development | A gathering for all Life Group leaders in which

information and vision for the upcoming series is shared as well as Leader

and Group training elements are taught. This gathering usually takes place 1-2

weeks before the series begins.

• Life Group Celebration | An event for all Life Group leaders where leaders

and group members are invited to worship and celebrate together. Usually

takes place right before the Fall series

• Zones | These are the geographical zones in which groups reside and are

organized by.

• Zone Gathering | This is a meet up of leaders who live within one of the

geographical zones where they gather for encouragement, training, and to

share a meal together.

• Life Groups Sign-Ups | The time in which Shepherd Church members can

join a group via online sign-ups or in person sign-ups at one of our locations.

• Pending Registration | This term is used to describe someone who has

signed up for a Life Group, but has NOT been contacted by their new leader to

attend the Life Group.
