What is a Group Zone Lead for Shepherd Life Groups?

A Group Zone Lead is a pastoral and relational point of connection between Shepherd Church’s Life Groups Central Team and the small group leaders they oversee. Shepherd Life Groups are organized into geographical zones (Central, East, West, North, South, and Out of State). Each zone has one or more Group Zone Leads who:

Shepherd Leaders: They provide pastoral care, encouragement, and accountability for Life Group Leaders in their zone, making sure leaders are supported spiritually and practically.

Communicate Consistently: They check in with leaders regularly (via text, calls, email, or gatherings), especially during campaigns or new series, to ensure leaders feel connected and informed.

Equip and Resource: They help leaders navigate the Leader Toolbox, curriculum, and ministry updates, ensuring leaders have the tools they need to succeed.

Bridge the Gap: They act as a link between the larger vision/strategy of the Central Life Groups Team and the day-to-day experiences of group leaders and members.

In short: A Group Zone Lead is the frontline shepherd for Life Group Leaders in their zone, ensuring that no leader feels alone, unseen, or unsupported as they help their groups grow in Christ.
