Born and raised in San Diego, California, Joshua Merrill played three different sports in high school. In his senior year, he was runner-up for Athlete of the Year in the state of California. In 1994, Josh was named the CIF Player of the Year in basketball and The San Diego Union Tribune also named Josh as its Athlete of the Year. Josh focused on basketball in college and signed with Pepperdine University where he played his freshman year before transferring to and finishing his final three years at the University of California, Santa Barbara. For three years at UCSB, he was the second leading scorer and rebounder for the team. The UCSB Gauchos won the Big West Conference his senior season, and Josh was named Second Team, All Best West. Josh then continued playing basketball overseas for six years in a variety of different countries, including Argentina, Portugal, and Australia. Since 2006, he has been the director and pastor with Shepherd Sports.
With over 2 decades of successful coaching experience, Jason Flowers currently serves as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Los Angeles City College. He has been a part of 5 NCAA Division 1 conference championship teams, and coached in 4 NCAA tournaments including 3 as a head coach. He was also part of the California Baptist University coaching staff during the team’s 24-0 regular season campaign during the 2020-21 season. As a player, Flowers was a member of 2 Sweet 16 teams at UCLA after spending his first 2 collegiate seasons at UC Irvine. Flowers has also coached 9 Division 1 conference player of the year award winners at his various stops.
Hassan has over 10+ years of coaching experience in California with all levels between youth and junior college. He spent most of his time in North County San Diego at San Marcos High School. He has won multiple league championships, and CIF Open Division wins as a coach. He has developed several players who went on to play Division 1 and professional basketball.
Hassan grew up in Ohio and Arizona, where he played basketball and ran track & field. After high school, he played for his hometown community college, where he led the conference in assists and steals for two seasons. After playing basketball, he transferred to Arizona State and graduated with a BS in Computer Science. He moved with his family to SFV in 2022. He spends his free time at the park with his daughter and volunteering for community youth programs.
Camille Davis is a Southern California native, born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. She was a two-sport athlete in high school and went on to play basketball at the Chaminade University of Honolulu.
Camille began her coaching career over 10 years ago at her Alma mater. There she was a part of 4 league titles, 3 CIF titles, and 2 state titles. Camille currently serves as the head girls' coach at Heritage Christian School.
